If you would like to get rid of a registered automobile that was made in 1981 or earlier, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District runs a Vehicle Buy Back Program that may pay you $500 for your car. Cars that don't qualify for that program may be recycled at the following places, many of which are nonprofits that can offer you a donation receipt.
