Introduction
When you purchase a beverage in a glass, plastic or aluminum container, you pay a California Redemption Value (CRV) on each container. When bringing in your cans and/or bottles for CRV redemption you will be paid at a minimum per pound rate. If you have 50 or less cans or bottles and they are all of the same material type,* you can request a per unit rate (you can request that the items be counted and paid by the piece) to receive the same CRV redemption value that you paid upon purchase of the container. Each container needs to have the letters "CRV" on it, to show it is included in the program.
